Youths step out of your comfort zone

One of the primary and ever-increasing global challenges of this century is finding and nurturing future leaders. Many world leaders, leadership scholars, spiritual leader and mentors express concern about the need for developing, training and grooming the future leaders. We are living in a world that is segmenting into antagonistic groups – racism, sexism, imperialism, homophobia, tribalism, terrorism, and ethnic cleansing. These thorny social issues are splitting the world apart. The Americas and European are now divided by a culture of fear and uncertainty, while Asia displays a culture of hope; the Middles East- Muslim world is trapped in a culture of humiliation, and revolution, while Africa is trapped in a culture of corruption and bad leadership. We see a world of continuing conflict between ideologies, races and classes. Paradoxically, as conflict divides our world, scientific progress and technology innovation is linking people and nations together through social me...

The fingerprints of God

Image
A fingerprint is an impression on a surface of the curves formed by the ridges on a fingertip, especially such an impression made in ink and used as a means of identification. (answers.com) Here are some basic facts about fingerprints: * The patterns of ridges on our finger pads are unique: no two individuals—even identical twins—have fingerprints that are exactly alike. * We leave impressions—or prints—of these patterns on everything we touch with any pressure. * The prints can be visible, as when our fingers are dirty or oily, or they can be latent, as when they are made only by the sweat that is always present on our finger ridges. * Injuries such as burns or scrapes will not change the ridge structure: when new skin grows in, the same pattern will come back. Dactyloscopy is the practice of using fingerprints to identify someone. People are often convicted because their fingerprints have been left on a crime scene. Exodus 8 provides a scene of mira...

Why Does God Allow Trials In Our Life?

Image
Sometimes, God allows trials to take place because He is trying to accomplish His purposes in our lives. God is not the author of confusion; however, He will allow us to go through things that test our faith and build our character. Often, we bring trials upon our own lives due to disobedience or neglecting our relationship with God. When we are in the middle of a trial, we must stand on the Word and recognize that if it doesn't kill us, it will make us better. A.     Often, there is an objective God is able to fulfill, by allowing certain trials to take place in your life (Deuteronomy 8:2, 3). 1.        God will take advantage of rough situations to: a)      Humble you; humble man is one who will obey God. b)      Cause you to become submitted to His Word and His way of doing things c)      Prove to you what you are made of; what is in your heart d)   ...

Your True Indentity

Image
It is amazing to watch the development of a child’s relationship with his parents. At an early age, the child mimics his parents’ every move. He says the same things his parents say and does the same things his parents do. In other words, he becomes a mini version of his parents. But as he grows older, things may begin to change. Outside influences such as television, popular music, and pressure from his friends, can alter his way of thinking. Conflicts arise when a child begins to distance himself from his parents’ values and way of thinking. Sometimes, a child’s thinking can move so far out of alignment with his parents that it’s difficult to imagine that he and his parents are related. The same is true with many Christians today. They proudly wear the title of Christian, but their thinking doesn’t line up with the Word. Nothing that they say or do bears any resemblance to their heavenly Father. As a born-again Believer, you should look exactly like God. You should think, speak,...

The education system does not teach students to process knowledge

One of most significant issues facing youths in this era is the deteriorating education system which does not respond to their needs. Youth is that chapter of life where dreams are built, hope is kindled, and a bright future is foreseen. Those are the years to understand yourself, discover your potential, grab opportunities and pursue success. Those are also the years to foster moral principles, construct your value system and begin a new journey on the path of the ‘right.’ Education is the pillar by which this is accomplished. Our system stresses collecting knowledge without understanding its value. How about the processing of knowledge, and using inspiration, visionary ambitions, creativity, risk, the ability to bounce back from failure and motivation? Most education institutions don’t consider these skills. These skills are associated with understanding the value of knowledge. Anyone who does not have the ability to put clear thoughts on paper is labelled a failure. All natural sk...
